Who is eligible for this opportunity?

The fair is open to artist makers, artist/design collectives and galleries, specialising in, but not limited to, fine art painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, ceramics, craft, design-led products, homeware, textiles, and thoughtfully produced food and drink.

We welcome applications from early-career through to established artists, but all artists must be over 18.

All works must be original, or have a limited edition. All work must be for sale and there is no upper price limit.

We adhere to equal opportunity, and have pledged to ensure that disabled people have the opportunities to fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations.

They can also access the space on Friday 17 July between 8am and 10am to install.
The art fair will take place in the Wayfarers Arcade on both the ground and first floors. The space is fully indoors with access to toilets, electricity and WIFI.
 
Each exhibition area is unique, with some areas more suited to 3D display and others 2D wall hanging. Allocation will take into account artform display needs. 
 
For 3D work we have a limited number of optional display units, plinths, mannequins and rails available at no extra charge, but you are welcome to bring your own. For 2D display the space offers picture rail hanging, standard white boards or easy hang slatwall hanging. We have picture rail and slat wall hanging fixtures available.
 
An art wrapping service will also be provided and access to an art storage area, used at the makers own risk.
 
There is a loading bay and long stay paid for parking on site.
 
Full details regarding set up and take down will be sent in advance of the event.
The event space is accessible to anyone with mobility requirements from the main entrance on the ground floor and the loading bay.
 
Access through the rear of the arcade is limited. The site covers a large area, and is filled with the quirks of a historic building such as stairs and heavy wooden doors. A lift provides access to the first floor.
Toilets are available on both floors, with the access toilet on the ground floor. 
 
If you have any concerns about your access requirements, please let the organisers know.
Exhibitors will be promoted through a variety of content on art sector social media platforms.
 
The event is programmed to coincide with The Open Golf Championship at Royal Birkdale, that will bring a quarter of a million visitors to Southport from across the globe. The event will be actively promoted to visitors of the town.
Yes, due to logistics we can only accept applicants that can attend the preview and both art fair days.
Exhibitors are expected to look after their exhibition area at all times during the event. We would suggest bringing an additional person to help cover breaks (staff are unable to help with your break cover).

Yes, all exhibitors must have Public Liability insurance to the value of £2 million (in date during the market). If you do not hold insurance we recommend artist newsletter insurance HERE

Exhibition can access and install from 9am Thursday 16th July until the preview opens the fair on Thursday 16th July at 17.00.
 
They can also install on the morning of Friday 17th between 8am and 10am. Further details will be sent to exhibitors in advance of the event.
Work should be de-rigged on Saturday 17th July between 5pm and 9pm.

Exhibitors are selected by a panel comprising: Gallery More, Modern Contemporary, Play On, The Northerner Gallery and The Wayfarers Arts. They include members with comprehensive experience in curating, exhibiting, promoting, commissioning and retailing work by artists and makers at all levels of experience.

Exhibitors are selected to ensure that the art fair presents a range of products. Selection will be done to ensure a balanced, high-quality art fair that reflects the breadth of contemporary art and design.

Exhibitors will be selected on a rolling basis by the panel that will meet weekly to discuss all submissions. Applicants will be notified of the panel’s decision within 5 working days of their application. The team will contact all makers via email.

Unfortunately the team will not be able to provide feedback on unsuccessful submissions.
