Tony Heaton

Award-winning disabled artist and activist Tony Heaton OBE, has exhibited across the globe. A graduate of Southport Art School in the 1970’s, he has return and now makes art between Southport and Colonnata. Tony works in a variety of mediums, including direct carving and film. His most notable piece, Monument to the Unintended Performer was installed on the big number 4 at the entrance to Channel 4 TV for the 2012 Paralympic Games.

The Art Fair will feature Susan (Zen Girls) from Heaton’s ‘Zen…’ series (2005-2019), that show two bodies holding one another up in a seated position through the sheer power of togetherness. Also, Heaton’s 2018 Cycle Tour of Europe (Freedom of Movement) series on abandoned bikes from 34 European towns and cities, that includes a bicycle taken from Southport’s Marine Lake.
